Weekly Summary: March 19-23

Last week, DOC Products finalized their product: They plan to create an FM Radio transmitter while using the case design of the AM Radio transmitter and modifying the control buttons to a power switch and an SOS button protected by a case. The team also completed their Concept Test Survey and submitted it to the SouthingtonTalks Facebook group to receive feedback. As of Wednesday, March 28, the team has received 11 responses.

DOC Products has also received feedback from their PLTW classmates in both EDD and POE&CIM regarding their product designs. A blog post will be included shortly which contains a picture of some of the advice given.

This past week, DOC Products also acquired a great deal of expert feedback regarding their project. They heard back from Mr. DiValentino, Mrs. Keyworth, Mr. J. O'Reilly, and Mr. E. O'Reilly. The experts' advice tended towards the use of an AM Radio transmitter, or failing that, the FM transmitter. (Unfortunately, the team does not know how to make an AM Radio transmitter, which is why they are using the FM one.)

Next week, DOC Products' EDD classes will travel to the Skills21 Practice Expo to give a preliminary presentation on their capstone work so far. Their goal this week is to improve upon their website design and to create a 5-minute presentation of all their work so far this year.
